What Does the Transportation Committee Do?

This group has been tasked with identifying the pain points our employees experience in their chosen commute to the office and offering up some creative solutions as to how we can help. This committee will identify key hubs employees use, limitations, alternative modes of transportation, and potential solutions to cut commute times.

What is the Committee Working on Right Now?

GovOps Transportation Survey Results are IN!

The Transportation Committee is currently researching the following transportation options:

  • Secure bicycle parking
  • UTA ECO Passes - contract renewed for FY2025 - FY2026
  • Motorcycle Parking
  • TSOB Parking Solutions
  • Transportation “Hot spot” Research

UTA Midvalley Connector...2025

UPDATE (8/28/24): the buses used for the Midvalley Connector will be all fully electric!

The GovOps Transportation Committee wanted to make you aware of the new bus rapid transit line being constructed near the Taylorsville State Office Building, the Midvalley Connector.  The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is developing a Midvalley Express 7-mile bus route that connects local destinations and planned developments across Murray, Taylorsville, and West Valley City.  Construction began this spring and is projected to conclude in Fall 2025 (barring any unforeseen delays).

The route runs seven miles, with a total of 15 stations, and expects to have 11 buses along the route.  The current frequency is planned for  15 minutes.
