The Great Utah ShakeOut is designed to help everyone learn and practice “Drop, Cover, and Hold On.”
- At your designated time, everyone should “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” by getting under a desk, table, or chair and holding onto the legs.
- If you don’t have sturdy furniture nearby, kneel down against a wall without glass overhead and cover your head and neck with your arms and hands.
- The earthquake drill involves an imaginary earthquake and shaking and only lasts for about 1 minute.
- After the drill, you can make a test call to your out-of-area emergency contact.
- We want to see YOU participate! Take a selfie of you practicing drop, cover, and hold on and send it to Melissa Brown at [email protected]
- Help spread the word about ShakeOut by telling your family, neighbors, and friends to participate.
We will post pictures of our team participating on the GOTogether webpage: https://employee.govops.utah.gov/
